  Dr. Ulrich's practice philosophy is to positively affect the quality of life for each of our patients by providing excellent orthodontics and superior management of the human aspects of the orthodontic experience. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biochemistry in 1970 from U.C. Davis. He earned an additional Bachelors Degree in Science and his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1974 from UCSF Medical Center. While at UCSF he was awarded membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Ulrich was also the recipient of the Alumni Scholarship Award to the most outstanding student for clinical and academic excellence. In 1976 he completed his orthodontic specialty training at the UCSF Medical Center.Dr. Ulrich has received numerous community service awards for sponsoring Little League, Soccer, Wrestling, Basketball, Safe Graduation Night's, Jr. Lacrosse and local Theater groups. He has been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics, Northern Gold Country Parents, Orthodontic Product Review, Resource Guide, and Orthodontic Technology Review. He is a member of many dental and orthodontic organizations as well as the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce and the Sunbeam Tiger Owners Assn. Dr. Ulrich was born in Lodi, California, and grew up in the Bay Area. He is married to Kimberly and they have two children, Hilary who is currently working for the California Dental Association, and son Beau who is a dental student. When Dr. Ulrich is not busy with his patients, he enjoys 4-wheeling in the mountains, computers, geology, classic muscle car restoration and travel.
